Engine architecture

What the check covers

01

Scope detection

Checks whether a battery passport falls under Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, by category and date of placing on the market.

02

Economic operator

Identifies the role of the economic operator (manufacturer, importer, distributor) from GLN, EORI and DID.

03

Mandatory field check

Checks the fields required by Annex XIII of the Regulation, with a legal reference per finding.

04

Market data comparison

Reads market signals on regulatory status. Currently only in the command line tool, not in the web API.

Integration

Three steps to the report

API call

GET /api/compliance/check?passport_uid=…&as_of=YYYY-MM-DD. No sign-in needed for demo passports.

Engine checks

Scope, economic operator, mandatory fields. Every check returns a typed finding (A/B/C).

Structured report

JSON response with overall_status, summary counts and the full list of findings. Machine-readable.

GET /api/compliance/check
curl "https://elektro-beta.vercel.app/api/compliance/check\
  ?passport_uid=ATDEMODEMO0002\
  &as_of=2027-02-18"

# Response (excerpt)

Finding classification

Three finding types, no legal verdict

The engine classifies findings as A/B/C, never as a legal conclusion. It never produces type D (legal violation).

A

Data finding

Missing or invalid data in the passport record. No legal verdict, just a data problem.

B

Procedural finding

Question of process or responsibility. Needs internal clarification.

C

Notice

Market or version signal for information. No immediate action required.

API access

Compliance check for your system

Integrate the check directly into your ERP, PIM or DPP portal. REST API, JSON response, no SDK required. Self-service in preparation.
